Kilimanjaro Climbing

What Is Mount Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro is 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. It is the highest free-standing mountain in the world, which is why people call it the ‘Roof of Africa’. Kilimanjaro climbing is a big goal, but a reachable one.

Every year over 40,000 people come to try for the top. The good news is that you do not need technical climbing skills, just a good level of fitness. For many climbers, Kilimanjaro is the first of the Seven Summits.

We at Tanzania Tourism Safaris have been guiding climbers to Kilimanjaro’s summit for over a decade. We put this guide together so you know what to expect and can plan your climb well.
