5-Day Zanzibar Honeymoon Beach Holiday
Zanzibar Stone Town Prison Island Nungwi

Beach holiday
Three nights is enough to get a real feel for Zanzibar if you use them well. We put this short break together for people with limited time: those adding a few beach days after a mainland safari, or anyone who wants a long weekend of warm water and not much of a schedule.
You stay at a luxury resort on Kendwa Beach, on the island’s northwest coast. The beach faces west, so you see the sun set over the sea. The low tides that pull the water far out on the east coast affect Kendwa much less. The resort is all-inclusive: meals and local drinks are covered, so there is no bar bill to keep an eye on.
One day goes to the island’s history. A guide walks you through the lanes of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then takes you by boat to Prison Island. Lunch is included. The other days are for the beach, the pool and the reef. Tanzania Tourism Safaris looks after the airport meeting and all transfers, so you only have to choose between a swim, a snorkel or a nap.
Your driver waits outside the arrivals hall at Zanzibar’s international airport. The drive north to Kendwa passes villages, spice farms and banana groves. Check in, change into something cool and go down to the water. Kendwa’s long white beach looks its best in the late afternoon, as the sun drops toward the sea. Dinner is at the resort, and local drinks are part of your all-inclusive plan.
Breakfast is early today, then your guide picks you up for a full day out. In Stone Town you walk past heavy carved doors, the coral-stone Old Fort and the Forodhani Gardens on the seafront, and through the spice and fish stalls of Darajani Market. Next comes a short boat ride to Prison Island. Giant tortoises wander around the grounds of an old quarantine station, and the reef there is good for a swim. Lunch is included, and you are back at the beach by evening.
There is no fixed plan today. The coral reefs off the north of the island have clear water and lots of color, and the resort can book a snorkeling or diving trip for you. Would you rather stay on land? Have a massage, read under a thatched umbrella or swim a few lengths in the pool. Find a spot on the sand for sunset, then have your last dinner at the resort.
Take your time over breakfast. If your flight is later in the day, there is time for one more swim or a walk along the beach. Your driver picks you up at the agreed time and takes you back to Zanzibar’s international airport. Four days not enough? We can add nights in Kendwa, or you can carry on to another Tanzanian island, such as Pemba or Mafia.
Per person in US dollars. The price depends on when you travel and how many travelers share the trip.

| Peak season Now 1 Jun – 31 Oct and 21 Dec – 5 Jan | $2,100 | $1,400 | $1,200 | $1,100 |
For a first visit, yes. You get one full day of history in Stone Town and on Prison Island, and two lazy beach days. If you want more beach time, we can add nights in Kendwa or move you to a second beach on another coast.
Kendwa faces west, so you see the sun set over the ocean. The sea also stays close to the beach for more of the day. On the east coast, low tide can leave a wide stretch of reef flat out of the water. So Kendwa suits people who mainly want to swim.
Yes, and many guests do just that. Scheduled flights connect Arusha and several Serengeti airstrips with Zanzibar, and we time your arrival transfer to your flight. Just ask, and we will add these four days to any of our northern Tanzania safaris.

Excellent Trip of a Lifetime
Our family had the trip of a lifetime over the holidays. Our guides were amazing and always checked to make sure that we had everything we needed. In less than 2 weeks we got to do a short safari in Ngorongoro Crater, did a family visit as part of the cultural experience (my kids are still talking about how good the food was!!), visited Moshi for shopping, went to Dar Es Salaam and did a 2 day trip to Zanzibar. The logistics were all very smooth and the guides added humor and levity to the entire trip. We were in good hands and will never forget the hospitality shown to us while there. The best thing about the packages is that you can work with the team to tailor it to your exact timeline. We had to get back to work and school so opted for a short Christmas trip but we'll eventually go back to do a longer summer trip. Forever indebted for such a great experience!
Trip of a life time!! But why not go back?
BEST VACATION!!!! Eye opening, amazing, Beautiful and REAL. The safari was my favorite part. Seeing animals you learn about and dream of seeing right in front of your face. The food was great I ask you to be open and not get your norm. Safe? Yes. Of course there’s times you question a new country, area and people. There was never a moment I was in question of people or my surroundings. Next time I’m bring my kids they’re older and can help pay… hahaha. I heard it’s best not to go during the rainy Season it’s just easier and more enjoyable to get around. Just what people have said.
Great experience
Had a wonderful Safari experience in Nothern Tanzania. Got to see some Lions very closely. Best experience in a very long time tbh.
It was an amazing experience!
